Grand Jury Testimony Shatters Initial Theory

Recent grand jury transcripts reveal that the minor daughter of accused former Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines denied having any relationship with the slain Judge Kevin Mullins. This directly contradicts earlier rumors that suggested an inappropriate connection between them. Kentucky State Police Detective Clayton Stamper testified:

“Stines’ minor daughter denied having any contact with Mullins, including over social media, electronic devices or in person.”

The testimony also clarified that the presence of the daughter’s number in Mullins’ call log was a result of Stines himself using the judge’s phone to call her moments before the shooting.

Surveillance Footage Captures Calm Before the Storm

Video evidence obtained from the courthouse shows Stines calmly entering Judge Mullins’ chambers and requesting others to leave. The two engaged in what appeared to be a peaceful conversation before the situation escalated. Stamper noted:

“Stines attempted to call his daughter from his and judge Mullins’ phones.”

After the calls went unanswered, Stines revealed his weapon and proceeded to lock the door. The footage, though edited to omit the violent act, captures the chilling sequence of events.

Stines’ defense team is pursuing an insanity plea and moved to dismiss the indictment, citing procedural errors during grand jury proceedings. Meanwhile, a separate scandal involving sextortion allegations against Mullins surfaced. In audio recordings, Sabrina Adkins, a plaintiff in a civil rights lawsuit, claimed:

“I seen Judge Mullins having sex with a girl in his office, in the judge’s chambers.”

These allegations, though unverified, add complexity to the case and suggest possible alternative motives.

Motive Remains Unclear as Case Continues

With the original motive debunked, investigators are now reconsidering other angles, including the possibility that Stines was influenced by unverified claims about the judge’s conduct.

The defendant’s wife and daughter have both denied any relationship with Mullins, leaving the prosecution to reassess its approach. No new court date has been set, and the judge has yet to rule on the defense’s motion to dismiss.
