Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020
In Second Life, there are fundraising for all sorts of worthy causes. This is the side of SL that I love the most: the generosity and heart shown by its players. It is amazing how people do get involved to help and support each other. Some people say SL is a toxic environment. Well, those who say that are obviously not looking in the right place.
This month (October), it is Breast Cancer Awareness. My mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer. That was one of the worst days of my life since she was my friend, my rock, and the only person in the world that truly loved me unconditionally. She had the operation and went into remission. Unfortunately, not all cells were caught and it spread into her body to finally find a home in her pancreas. I lost her 3 years ago, which still feels like yesterday.
Breast cancer is a slow killer. And we must be fast to kill it first. Early detection is important and efficient treatment is vital. So if you never thought about this form of cancer, think about your mother, your sister, your cousin, your aunt, your friend…Cancer doesn’t care about the color of your skin or your wealth…
